BTV self-regulating heat tracing from Chemelex Raychem
BTV heating cables from Chemelex Raychem offer a robust and flexible solution for temperature management in various applications. These self-regulating heating cables are designed to protect pipes and surfaces from freezing and to maintain process temperatures up to 65°C. They are particularly suitable for both industrial and commercial environments where precise temperature control is crucial.
The BTV cables utilize a self-regulating heating element that automatically adjusts its heating power based on the ambient temperature. This technology ensures optimal energy efficiency and prevents overheating, resulting in reliable performance under diverse conditions. The cables can maintain temperatures up to 65°C and withstand exposure to temperatures up to 85°C for a cumulative maximum of 1000 hours, making them suitable for demanding environments.
A notable feature of the BTV series is its suitability for explosive environments. The cables are approved for use in ATEX environments with a temperature class of T6 and can be applied in zone 1 and zone 2 for gas explosion hazards, as well as in zone 21 and zone 22 for dust explosion hazards, provided the correct components are used.
The BTV cables are available with different types of outer jackets, depending on the application. The polyolefin outer jacket (-CR) offers protection against mild inorganic solutions and is suitable for general conditions. For applications requiring high chemical resistance, there is the fluoropolymer outer jacket (-CT), which is resistant to aggressive organic and corrosive substances. However, it is important to note that these cables are not suitable for processes involving steam cleaning.
