BS 4G-198 Part 3 Type 15
BS 4G 198-3 is a standard for shrink fittings or heat shrink tubing for the aerospace industry and is classified under the following ICS categories: 49.060 Space electrical equipment and systems.
This part of BS 4G 198 specifies the design, performance, quality assurance, and test methods for the types of heat-shrinkable sleeves listed in Table 1 and Table 2. These sleeves are intended for bundling, insulation, and identification purposes. Routine tests and quality checks are also specified. These shrink fittings can be used in both aerospace and non-aerospace applications.
Where specified, shrink fittings used with adhesives and/or heat-shrink formed shapes must comply with the compatibility test requirements as described in Part 5.
In addition to the final requirements, this standard also requires that items as described in Clause 3 are properly documented. To comply with this standard, both the final requirements and the documented items must be met.
