CATV: Eco-Friendly sealing sleeve for underground cables
CATV is a medium-wall heat shrink tubing with a mastic adhesive. This adhesive provides better waterproofing than the commonly used hotmelt adhesive in heat shrink sleeves. This makes it ideal for repairing cables that need to be submerged in water. The elasticity of the mastic sealing compound allows underground movements without causing leaks.
Electrical applications
In electrical applications, CATV can be used on power cables up to 600 Volts AC, such as water pump and lighting cables. It provides a reliable seal that withstands various environmental factors.

Installation CATV heat shrink tubing with mastic adhesive
For optimal adhesion and performance, always ensure that the surface of the cables or other objects is clean and dry. Degrease the surface with a suitable cleaner, such as our convenient EPPA-004 wipes.
Lightly sanding the surface can increase the surface area by up to 100%, significantly improving adhesion!
Heating can be done using a heat gun. For outdoor conditions and larger heat shrink tubing, we recommend using a gas torch. A gas torch is an ideal tool for this application and requires operator skills that are easy to learn but essential. We are happy to assist you in developing these skills!
