GUROFLEX Casting Resin: The ideal solution for medium voltage applications
GUROFLEX from TE Connectivity RAYCHEM is an innovative two-component cold-applied polyurethane resin specifically designed for medium voltage applications. This high-quality casting resin offers excellent electrical properties and cures into a flexible, rubber-like substance that does not melt or flow. This makes it the perfect choice for bulk insulation applications, such as fillers for cable connection boxes and enclosures of transformers, switchgear, and motors. Thanks to its insensitivity to temperature, GUROFLEX can be mixed and poured in both cold and warm environments, greatly enhancing ease of use.
Safety and environmental friendliness of GUROFLEX
One of the key advantages of GUROFLEX is its safety and environmental friendliness. Unlike traditional bitumen or oil-based insulation materials, GUROFLEX poses no risks during heating and pouring. The liquid components are non-hazardous and do not contribute to environmental pollution. This makes GUROFLEX an excellent choice for non-IR-clearance cable boxes, where phase metalwork may not be sufficiently insulated.

RAYCHEM GUROFLEX-MV
Extensively tested based on the requirements of the CENELEC cable accessory performance standard HD 629.1 (including the requirements of IEC 60502-4) for nominal voltages up to 36 kV. Additional tests include impulse voltage withstand at 250 kV (prescribed level for 52 kV cable systems).
RAYCHEM GUROFLEX-N
Suitable for filled XLPE, PE, PVC, and paper-insulated cables. System tested according to CENELEC EN 59393. System tested according to CENELEC HD 631.1 S2 (LI-W-LT/HT). GUROFLEX-N is system tested according to CENELEC EN 50393 and HD 631.1 S2.
GUROFLEX is not affected by the presence of residues from traditional oil-based hot pour filling compounds. GUROFLEX does not produce heat during the reaction. There is no “top-up” required, and the equipment can be energized immediately after filling. Once the compound has cured into a cross-linked solid mass, there is no risk of leakage from seals or cable fittings
