Ben-Har 1151-FRB Federal Mogul Protective Sleeve
Ben-Har 1151-FRB Federal Mogul Protective Sleeve is a robust, flame-retardant, silicone rubber-coated sleeve that offers excellent protection against cuts and abrasion for wiring systems in applications with temperatures from -70ºC to +200ºC. Because the specially formulated silicone rubber is extrusion-coated over the non-flammable fiberglass braid, the result is a reinforced sleeve that is superior to ordinary dip-coated sleeves and unreinforced rubber or plastic tubes.
Due to the enhanced flame-retardant properties, 1151-FRB Grade A is difficult to ignite, has a very low burn rate, and self-extinguishes immediately—even after bottom ignition of a vertical specimen. 1151-FRB Grade A is used to separate/insulate critical circuits and conductors, as a thermal barrier for limited periods, as identification marking, or as a wire bundle mechanism.
It is ideal for protecting wiring systems in modern aircraft from wear, impact, harmful dripping, splashing, or spraying. Qualified by major American airframe manufacturers, 1151-FRB Grade A meets all performance requirements of MIL-I-3190/6. Ben-Har 1151-FRB Grade A is resistant to hydraulic fluids (including Skydrol LD), jet fuels, inorganic acids, and alkalis. Some swelling occurs in aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents.
