EN 6049-003 protective sleeve

EN 6049-003 protective sleeve from the brand Federal-Mogul is an advanced solution designed to protect electrical cables and wiring in demanding environments such as the aerospace-, military- and maritime industries. This protective sleeve is made of meta-aramid Nomex®, a thin-walled braided sleeve known for its high strength, flexibility and heat resistance. The water-repellent treatment (HO) reduces moisture absorption and improves impermeability to liquids.

One of the outstanding features of the EN 6049-003 protective sleeve is the wide temperature range in which it can operate effectively, from -60ºC to +240ºC. This makes the sleeve particularly suitable for use in extreme conditions where other materials might fail. In addition, the sleeve provides excellent protection against wear, mechanical damage and radiation influences such as gamma and X-rays. These properties ensure that the cables remain well protected, even in the most aggressive environments.

The self-extinguishing properties of the Nomex® fibers in the EN 6049-003 sleeve contribute to a high level of safety by slowing the spread of fire. This is particularly important in applications where fire safety is a priority. Thanks to its flexible and expandable structure, the protective sleeve can easily be installed over long lengths of cable, even after fitting end connectors. The open braided construction makes the sleeve highly flexible and prevents the retention of water, heat and moisture.
